Help with OCD
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a very common condition. OCD UK estimates that as many as 12 in a 1000 people suffer from this condition. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can occur as a symptom of other conditions like autism etc. but it can also occur on its own.
Despite lots of research, it is still not known exactly what causes it and it is stated that it can be a combination of neurological, genetic and environmental causes. Either way, it can be very debilitating.
The sufferer can experience extreme anxiety if they do not carry out certain routines and tasks that they feel a strong urge to carry out. Some individuals describe it as making them feel weird or not right if they don’t carry these routines ou. OCD thoughts can sometimes be quite irrational. Consequently making the sufferer feel isolated and affecting their quality of life.
Hypnosis and OCD
Hypnotherapy can help to teach Cognitive Behavioural Techniques to the unconscious mind so the individual learns to challenge the obsessive thoughts in their mind; bringing the OCD under more control.
